Educación2021 - Actualidad

Aula Manglar

Es un proyecto de educación comunitaria no formal, desarrollado en la Casita Ingala, un espacio único en Isabela, Galápagos. Ubicado en un manglar a cinco minutos de la playa, este entorno representa la sensibilidad y la riqueza de los ecosistemas locales. Desde un enfoque integral, el proyecto busca promover el cuidado del espacio, entendido como el cuidado de la vida, reconociendo su valor como aula viva y espacio de interacción comunitaria. Desde esta perspectiva, Aula Maglar plantea la conexión con el territorio como una herramienta central para la conservación y el fortalecimiento del tejido social.

Objetivo general

Promover el desarrollo integral de los niños y niñas de 4 a 7 años a través de un aprendizaje lúdico, creativo y experiencial, enfocado en educación libre, desarrollo de capacidades en el idioma inglés, educación ambiental y derechos de los niños y niñas.

Objetivos específicos

Fomentar la expresión creativa y el pensamiento divergente en los estudiantes a través de actividades lúdicas.

Mejorar la competencia comunicativa en inglés mediante proyectos temáticos y experiencias inmersivas.

Enriquecer el proceso educativo mediante experiencias prácticas y colaboraciones con instituciones externas.

Generar relaciones de conocimiento, respeto y apropiación del territorio

Isabela tiene teatro2010 - Actualidad

Jijijico Theater Group

Jijijico is a creation and training space for young people on Isabela, blending theater with learning in the mangrove as a living classroom. The project uses the natural environment to connect art with human rights, nature rights, and environmental conservation.

Objetivo general

Through intensive learning dynamics, participants develop stage skills, strengthen cultural identity, and generate theater proposals that engage with their environment and community. Each cycle ends with performances on the island and, in some editions, inter-island tours.

Objetivos específicos

Consolidate an annual performing arts training space for the Jijijico group that builds acting, expressive, and socio-environmental awareness skills.

Share the group’s artistic and conservation message with the local community through shows for diverse audiences.

Expand the reach of Jijijico’s artistic and environmental message to the islands of Santa Cruz and San Cristóbal.

Comunitario2010 - Actualidad

Isabela Has Community

Umbrella program that brings together community projects on Isabela to strengthen the social fabric and foster integral, sustainable development.

Objetivo general

Integrates activities in arts and cultural mediation, holistic education, environmental education, violence prevention, permaculture, and natural medicine, adapting each year to local needs and shared knowledge. Its open, collaborative nature is a living platform for participation, social innovation, and building a collective identity in harmony with the environment.

Objetivos específicos

Train, facilitate dialogue, and promote workshops focused on holistic human development.

Run workshops in partnership with institutions and organizations.

Share and transfer knowledge to educators and community members.

Include proposals from facilitators and volunteers.

Women Creators Gathering – Moon Wings

Across eight editions in the Galápagos, more than 100 artistic activities—plays, dance, music, and performance—were held with national and international artists.

Objetivo general

Use art as a tool for social change to address gender-based violence from an innovative perspective and foster a sustainable culture in the Galápagos Islands.

Objetivos específicos

Use art as a tool to address gender-based violence.

Promote learning processes aimed at eradicating violence against women and feminized bodies.

Position the festival as an ongoing annual event in the Galápagos Islands.

Expand cultural offerings for Galapagueño youth and tourism on the islands.

Open spaces for listening, dialogue, and debate to make gender-based violence visible in the community and seek joint solutions.

Isabela tiene teatro2022 - 2024

Theater to the Classroom

A performing arts program that reached 80 students in Puerto Villamil and the Tomás de Berlanga parish, producing plays focused on environmental and social awareness.

Objetivo general

Strengthen performing arts for children and adolescents on Isabela, promoting their integral development and reinforcing environmental and social themes through public theater performances.

Objetivos específicos

Sustain training and production in performing arts within schools and high schools in Puerto Villamil.

Provide curricular alternatives in educational institutions to address the lack of teaching staff.

Reinforce environmental and social knowledge through public theater performances.

Theater of Memory

An interdisciplinary theater process with 36 youth on Isabela during their Cultural and Artistic Education hour. The performance, presented to over 100 community members, fostered critical reflection on water management and sanitation, strengthening identity and local environmental stewardship.

Objetivo general

Promote critical reflection and community recognition through a theater process that re-signifies young people’s relationship with their territory within the interdisciplinary Water and Sanitation project of the Galápagos contextualized curriculum.

Objetivos específicos

Offer theater workshops as a strategy of resistance and recognition, helping youth reframe their relationship with the community and the island.

Develop strategies to gather community experiences and knowledge.

Promote spaces for critical reflection on cultural identity, history, and oral memory.

Revalue historical memory through a theater process built from the perspective and voices of adolescents.
